DELF B1 듣기 시험을 어떻게 준비하면 좋을까요?
무엇보다 먼저, 아직 A2에 머물러 있는 게 아니라 정말 B1 레벨인지 확인해 보세요. B1을 완벽하게 마스터할 필요는 없지만, B1의 중간쯤에는 편안하게 있어야 해요. 영상이나 연습 문제가 대부분 너무 빠르게 느껴진다면, 잠시 한 레벨 아래로 내려가서 귀를 먼저 트이게 한 다음 다시 돌아오세요.
시험 자체에서는 모든 단어를 다 알아들을 필요는 없어요. 시험은 상황을 얼마나 이해했는지를 확인해요. 누가 말하고 있는지, 그 사람이 원하는 게 무엇인지, 핵심 메시지, 그리고 몇 가지 중요한 세부 사항까지요. 각 녹음이 시작되기 전에 문제를 미리 볼 수 있으니 그 시간을 활용하세요. 문제를 하나씩 읽으면서 무엇을 들어야 하는지 생각해 보세요. 이유인가요? 숫자인가요? 문제 상황인가요? 아니면 누군가의 의견인가요?
레벨에 맞는 영상 고르기
연습할 영상은 내 레벨에 딱 맞아야 해요. 은어와 빠른 농담으로 가득하면 도움보다는 혼란을 줄 수 있어요. 각 레벨이 어떻게 들리는지 알려드릴게요. 그러면 지금 내가 어디쯤 있는지, 무엇을 눈여겨봐야 하는지 알 수 있어요.
A1: 가족, 친구, 학교, 취미, 그리고 주변 사물처럼 일상생활에 관한 느리고 단순한 문장을 이해할 수 있어요. 숫자, 시간, 그리고 역 안내 방송 같은 또렷한 안내를 알아들을 수 있어요. 이 레벨에서는 숫자와 시간이 나오는 영상을 고르고, 아직 문장 전체가 아니라 일상적인 단어 하나하나를 골라내는 연습을 해 보세요.
A2: 가족, 쇼핑, 길 안내, 직장, 운동, 요리, 외식처럼 당장 필요한 것들에 관한 단어와 표현을 이해할 수 있어요. 가족이나 주변의 일상생활을 다루는 영상을 골라 보세요.
B1, 지금 내 레벨: 사람들이 표준 프랑스어로 말하는 한, 벌어지는 일 대부분을 이해할 수 있어요. 여기서는 은어가 도움이 되기는커녕 오히려 방해만 돼요. 누군가 이야기를 들려주거나 상황을 설명하거나 의견을 말할 때 핵심을 따라갈 수 있어요. 일상적인 주제로 이야기하고 설명하고 의견을 나누는 영상을 골라 보세요. A2 때보다 조금 더 자세한 내용으로요.
B2, 다음 목표: 거의 독립적으로 다양한 주제를 따라갈 수 있고, 찬반 논쟁도 이해할 수 있어요. 더 준비가 되었다면 토론, 다큐멘터리, 실제 이슈를 다루는 논의로 넘어가 보세요. B1 때보다 더 길고 풍부한 이야기도 함께요.
녹음은 두 번씩 나와요
첫 번째 들을 때는 전체적인 의미를 파악하는 데 집중하세요. 누가 말하고 있나요? 어디에 있나요? 기분이 좋아 보이나요, 짜증이 나 보이나요, 걱정하고 있나요, 아니면 조언을 해주고 있나요? 모르는 단어가 지나가도 계속 들으세요. 정답은 그 단어 하나가 아니라 상황 전체에서 나오는 경우가 아주 많아요.
두 번째 들을 때는 이름, 숫자, 시간, 이유, 그리고 선택지 사이의 작은 차이 같은 세부 사항에 집중하세요. 들었던 단어를 그대로 반복하지만 의미는 맞지 않는 선택지를 조심하세요. 문제는 단어를 알아들었는지가 아니라 내용을 이해했는지를 확인하는 경우가 많아요.
“아니다”와 정정, 연결어에 귀 기울이기
바로 이 부분에서 점수를 잃기 쉬워요. 오디오는 “이자벨은 미용사예요”라고는 잘 말하지 않아요. 대신 “이자벨은 미용사가 아니라 택시 기사예요”라고 말해요. “아니다”를 놓치면 자신만만하게 오답을 고르게 돼요. 문장을 뒤집는 작은 단어들에 귀를 훈련하세요. “ne... pas”, “mais”, “en fait”, “pas du tout”, “au contraire” 같은 말들이에요.
연결어도 그만큼 중요해요. 사실 A2와 B1을 가르는 진짜 차이가 바로 이거예요. 연결어는 어떤 일이 왜 일어났는지, 그 결과가 무엇인지, 누군가 무엇을 하려고 했는지를 알려줘요. “pourtant”, “en revanche”, “du coup”, “en réalité”, “alors” 같은 말을 알아듣게 되면, 긴 녹음도 더 이상 단어의 벽처럼 느껴지지 않아요. 이건 원인이고, 이건 결과이고, 여기서 화자가 방향을 바꿔서 반대되는 말을 한다는 흐름이 보이기 시작해요.

대본은 큰 도움이 되지만, 실제 시험에서는 아무도 대본을 주지 않아요. 그러니 문제를 진짜로 풀어보기 전에는 열어보지 마세요.
오답 노트를 만들어요
문제를 풀 때마다 새로 배운 단어뿐 아니라 무엇을 틀렸는지도 적어요. 화자의 의견을 놓쳤나요? 비슷한 보기 두 개를 헷갈렸나요? 숫자를 잘못 들었나요? 부정하는 말이나 정정하는 부분을 놓쳤나요? 단어는 알아들었지만 상황은 이해하지 못했나요? 서둘러서 서른 문제를 푸는 것보다, 솔직하게 메모하며 열 문제를 푸는 편이 훨씬 많이 배우게 해줘요.
좋은 한 주는 이 두 가지를 함께 섞어요. 거의 매일 자신의 레벨에 맞는 진짜 프랑스어를 들으며 귀를 훈련하고, 일주일에 두세 번은 공식 듣기 문제를 하나씩 통째로 풀며 시험에 익숙해져요. 그러면 더 예민해진 귀와 시험 요령, 이 시험이 중요하게 보는 두 가지를 모두 갖추게 돼요. 그러니 영상을 신중하게 고르고, 스스로에게 너그러워지면서 즐겨보세요.
